History of EBS S.A.
The history of the EBS holding company is the story of a group of people who in the 1990s decided to join forces in a joint business venture. The first project was to build a network of professional laundries in Poland, involving a banker from Switzerland, a Polish entrepreneur, a French businessman with extensive experience in the laundry industry, and several financial investors from Poland. The EBS investment team quickly integrated and expanded over time – over the next several years the number of Partners grew to seven.
A stable and qualified management team has enabled EBS Group to become a leader in the laundry industry in Central Europe and to dynamically develop its business in the food service sector.
In 2011, the Group began building a chain of more than a dozen E. Wedel Chocolate Pump Rooms, which were sold to Wedel in 2014. The year 2015 marked the next step in its development – EBS acquired 12 restaurants belonging to the Immochan Group, becoming a food service operator. Since then, in addition to laundry services, the Group also offers a culinary diversified offer in the casual dining segment.
These restaurants were later transformed into the Bistro Polskie, Bistro Pizza and My Asia concepts. In 2016, EBS made another acquisition, taking over the restaurant chain Thai Wok, which now has 30 locations located in Poland’s largest cities.
Development also extended to the laundry sector – in 2019, a rebranding of the laundry chain in Poland was carried out, creating a new private label Pralnia EBS.
Thanks to consistent growth and well-thought-out acquisitions, EBS Group continues to strengthen its market position, continuing its expansion in both the laundry and food service industries.
